About Blotter

Blotter is an independent view of fire and EMS dispatch calls across Fairfield County, Connecticut. It reads the public dispatch record, keeps each call at a stable address, and organizes the result into a live feed, map, incident timeline and county statistics.

The goal is simple: make the operational record useful without pretending it is a final account of what happened. Dispatch data is fast, abbreviated and sometimes corrected later; Blotter preserves that context while making the record easier to scan.

It is not an official source. Blotter is not operated by a town, department, ambulance service or dispatch centre. A call can be upgraded, cancelled or corrected after it first appears.

It is not for emergencies. If you need help, call 911. If you can see something happening, trust your eyes over this site.

Member views are screened. Caller, callback, exact patient status and raw dispatcher remarks stay out of Blotter and Blotter+. Blotter+ unit positions contain no names or identifiers. The separate administrator view can inspect the unscreened operator record.

Some summaries are automated. Model-written text is marked wherever it appears and can be wrong. The underlying timestamps and unit movements remain visible beside it.
